Laying my flesh to rest

Your Name

When you encourage me,

I say your name.

When I think of you,

I say your name.

When I long to be near you,

I say your name.

When a memory of our laughter crosses me,

I say your name.

When I recall all the times you were there,

I say your name.

When I’m in your presence and need to be pinched,

I say your name.

When you’re engaged in my story, my reason or my rhyme,

I say your name.

I don’t say your name to get your attention.

I don’t say your name out of need.

I say your name because;

It’s a name I’ll always remember,

It’s the name of whom I love.

It’s a name that I know God sent from above.

It’s a name I will never run from,

It’s a name that brings me joy,

It’s a name I say proudly,

More and more.

My Darling,

My Sweet,

My Love,

My Honey,

My Treat,

My Beloved.

A praiseworthy name you were given to be,

A name matching perfect to purity.
