Laying my flesh to rest

My Dearest Love

My Dearest Love

I tried to think of something to say…

To make him feel special, loved, appreciated and seen.

What words can I put together to express my heart?

Maybe I can state a scripture?

He’d like that.

Maybe I can quote a book?

He’d like that.

Maybe I can send a picture of how I look when thinking of him?

He’d like that.

Or maybe I can tell him in my own words…

My Dearest Love,

I wake up thinking of you.

I imagine doing mundane things that become exciting because I’m with you.

I think of the day I’ll get to smell you again.

Wrap my arms around you and rest my head against your back,

Your chest,

Your neck.

For my love is selfish.

Wanting you all for myself.

To cater, nurture and take care of.

I blink several times glaring at you;

Expecting something to change.

Reality,

Your handsomeness,

Your heart.

But it doesn’t.

You were created perfectly for this very moment,

My very heart,

Our great love.

I tried to think of something to say…

To make you feel special, loved, appreciated and seen.

It’s a feeling you give me each and every day.

I thank God faithfully for you.
